The Standard Model Kit Software Load contains 126 Ansel Adams high resolution photographic images, displayed on an LCD screen by a built-in 68000-based computer system. The images reside on an internal hard drive, and operation is completely automatic - It Just Works - a thin cord connects to a power block with an overall length of about 12 feet.

A PixureFrame displays an endless show of greyscale images originally captured by Ansel Adams as part of his photographic survey of the Montana and Idaho mountain area for the USGS in what became Yellowstone National Park. The raw natural beauty and awesome landscapes were available to the public for the first time in the early 20th century.

The images transition over a period af about a second and each photo is displayed for about 45 seconds. This time interval between frames can be adjusted from a few seconds up to several minutes.

Additional information about PixureFrame you do need to know

The Standard Model Kit Display is NOT a color display - Ansel Adams made Black and White Silver- Colloid based photographs, and a PixureFrame Display emulates this effect by projecting light through a pixel-based Liquid Crystal Display screen. The name "PixureFrame" is derived from "Pixel" or "Picture Element".

The Cost is $89, plus shipping of 17.95 in the continental US. The Guarantee is simple - if a PixureFrame component ever fails to function during the next year, it will be replaced with a working replacement component so you can continue to enjoy displaying the same artwork; however damage resulting from a fall or other accidental physical damage is not covered by this guarantee.
This is a fun, educational experience designed to not only give you a working photo display but learn how a typical laptop computer is assembled froma few basic component sets which can be simply rearranged and framed to provide a unique display that you created from an almost-obsolete laptop computer. Keep in mind that only a few display variables can be adjusted by the owner/builder, such as displayed picture Timing Intervals, Brightness, and Contrast.
